This past year has been a slow, cathartic, and at times, painful shedding- transitioning from the things we’ve outgrown while learning to open our hearts to ourselves. We were stripped bare of the things that used to give us comfort, pushing us to find solace in what felt like the abyss.
We were taught to find purpose in the stillness, to trust deeply even when we couldn’t see the results we wanted, and to let go of the karmic ties that once kept us bound.
There were moments when time stood still long enough for us to listen to the whispers of our soul. Then there were moments when we wished we had more time- time to hold onto the small moments of joy we experienced, time spent with the people we said goodbye to.
RELATED: CONNECTING TO YOUR HEART’S DESIRES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
There were moments of realization- the illusions we thought to be true were just a figment of our imagination, the wishes we were too scared to speak out loud were an invitation to stand in our worth, the pieces we thought were too broken to repair are a part of what makes us whole.
There were also moments that can only be described as divinely orchestrated, moments that gave us glimpses into the future we pray for. And yes, there were moments of pain. But the pain showed us how to rise deeper in love.
All of these moments, broken into fragments of our history, led us here, standing on the precipice of the old and the portal of a new life.
There’s a familiarity to this, almost like we’ve done it before, but yet, it feels so foreign. We’re surrendering to the wisdom of the unseen forces to guide us, letting ourselves dance between our heart’s desires and faith. We’re finding peace in the places of ourselves that once haunted us. And we’re finding strength in the vulnerability of our invisible scars, the scars we used to think were a testament of our eternal damnation.
With that, comes a much needed pause to hold reverence for the lessons you’ve learned, the person you once were, the person you are now, and the person you continue to evolve into.
Light a candle. Make your wishes. Say a prayer. Have gratitude for what once was and what’s to come. Honor your journey.
As we wrap up this year, reflect on what you want the upcoming year to bring.
- Which stories do you want to rewrite?
- What chapters are you ready to end?
- How do you want to be remembered?
- When you think of the greatest version of yourself- what are they like? If you could only describe them in one word, what would it be?
- When you close your eyes and imagine a life you’re proud to call yours, what does it look like?
Happy New Year and I’ll see you soon…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
