What Do You Want To Embody This New Year?

What Do You Want To Embody This Year?

That time of year has come again when we reflect back on our lives. It’s bittersweet but there’s a fondness to the memories we’ve collected along the way, the people we said goodbye to and the ones we met, the words we said and the words we wish we left unspoken.

We’ve also met parts of ourselves, rediscovered pieces of who we are, and parted ways with fragments of what we thought made us whole. In so many ways we were strangers to ourselves just a year ago.

We’ve come face to face with our unhealed wounds. We sat with the pain and the tears with no certainty that it would liberate us. We ripped our hearts wide open in hopes of finding buried treasures.

Now it’s time for the next chapter in this journey of what we call life, using the quiet strength you learned, while harnessing a bold confidence as you fearlessly pursue your dreams. The finality of unrequited sacrifices may not even feel real. But it is. So embrace this transition and transformation because on the other side is everything that made the pain and suffering worth it.

It’s your life, but better. This is the new beginning you’ve been waiting and working for. Which leads me into the yearly word.

This isn’t just any word- this is you in a nutshell. Not that you can be labeled or defined or even confined into a mold, but this word is the embodiment of who you are. It’s the person you’re growing into, the person you’re most proud of, the most elevated, healed version of yourself.

I know- that’s a tall order for a word. But it serves as an anchor and carries us through moments of doubt and frustration. It’s your beacon of strength when you’re losing faith. It’s your motivation to grow and evolve despite whatever setbacks there may be. Your word is your biggest hope and wish. It’s your guiding star for the year ahead.

The questions below will help you to find your word.

  • How do you want to show up in this next chapter?
  • How do you want to feel?
  • What do you want your life to look like a year from now?
  • What’s one piece of advice you wished you received but never got?
  • What’s your biggest accomplishment this year? (If you struggle with seeing the good in yourself, please remember that choosing love even when it was the hardest thing to do, is HUGE.)
  • If you could change one thing about the past year, what would it be?

Let this be the year you:

Step into your highest timeline.

Become everything you’ve ever hoped you could be.

Live life on purpose with purpose.

Take chances on yourself.

Recognize your worth and see your value.

Find peace from the internal wars you’re fighting.

Finally say to yourself, “I’m proud of myself” and mean it with every fiber of your being.

Come into remembrance of your divinity.

Have unwavering trust in yourself and the Universe/God.

See the beauty in yourself.

I’ll see you in the new year…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
