If You’re Feeling Trapped In The Unknown, Read This

If You're Feeling Trapped In The Unknown, Read This, Cleen Carma, Holistic Alcohol Sobriety, Recovery, Energy Healing

I know once the holiday decorations come down, it can feel so depressing. It’s too cold and dreary to do anything. You want nothing more than to be bundled up in bed and not be woken up until mother nature gives you the green light.

It’s in this unknown, in the void when our minds get the best of us. And not knowing how to navigate it- it’s disorienting. You don’t know what the next step is because you can’t see in front of you. So you stay where you are until you can find firm footing. Chaotic doesn’t even begin to encompass this feeling.

But, if we do a perspective shift, it’s also in this time when we can have the glow up of glow ups. Think of it as the calm before the storm. So use this time as preparation for your comeback season by harnessing the energy to your advantage.

Go within. Grow. Glow.

Make it your mantra if you’re struggling with the winter blues or anytime you feel stuck and can’t find your way out. Here’s some tips on how I got out of that funk.

EMBRACE THE QUIET

I know- this is almost a paradox because how can you embrace what you dread? But these moments of quiet solitude are actually peaceful. We’ve just been conditioned to be scared of ourselves so we think this downtime is taunting and haunting us.

If anything, it’s in these moments that we can see with stark clarity our unhealed wounds and unprocessed emotions. Take this as an opportunity to heal quicker than you’ve ever healed. Instead of judging yourself for feeling a certain way or repressing your emotions, explore why you feel the way you do and let your emotions come to the surface. It’s about finding stillness in the chaos.

HERE’S A TIP:

When you’re getting anxious or depressed, try this:

  • Inhale and exhale deeply and slowly, equal parts.
  • Close your eyes.
  • Keep breathing deeply.
  • When your thoughts begin to slow down, say the following mantras.

Just for this moment, I am at peace.

Just for this moment, I am healed.

Just for this moment, I am grateful to be me.

Just for this moment, I am happy.

Just for this moment, I feel whole and complete.

You can say whatever affirmations you want, those are just some suggestions. But start with just for this moment so that you bring yourself back into the present moment. Remember, it’s when we’re not in the present moment that our mind goes into places we’d rather not visit.

If it’s uncomfortable for you to sit with yourself, focus on regulating your nervous system so you can feel safe in your body- yoga, gentle movements, somatic exercises, anything that makes you feel calm and at peace.

GET INTO ALIGNMENT

Manifesting isn’t about working harder, it’s about getting into alignment. Alignment IS the work. So take this time to figure out what you want and how you want to feel, what kind of lifestyle you want. Then align yourself by doing things that make you feel good- meditate, gratitude, hobbies, music, foods you love, surrounding yourself with people who lift your spirits, etc.

Make a vision board. There’s neuroscience behind why it works. Look at it repeatedly. When you feel aligned, take action. But don’t take action until you feel aligned because you’ll end up doing double the work.

The whole point of this is to feel good because life should feel good. Our days of suffering, atoning for who we are, and listening to society’s definition of what success is are done. This era is about YOU being driven by your heart and following it with wild passionate abandon.

LIVE THE LIFE YOU WANT

Want slow mornings baking bread? Maybe right now your work schedule doesn’t allow you to have it everyday, but you can do it at least once a week. Intimidated by making bread? There’s a bunch of no knead recipes you can try out.

Want to exercise but don’t have time in the mornings? There’s no hard rule that says you have to exercise in the mornings so do it at night.

The point is what you want may not be easily accessible right now but then you wouldn’t want it if it were so easy, right? Probably not. Make some adjustments to your current routine so that you can begin living the life you want. Slowly add to it when you make progress.

Remember this- the life you want is worth the fight because you’re worth the fight.

I’ll see you soon…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
