The life we want and the people we want to be is a culmination of the little moments and decisions we make everyday. There will be times when you choose lower vibrational energies, there will be times when you make decisions from the past version of yourself, and there will be times you wish you reacted differently. That’s ok.

The elevated version of yourself isn’t perfect either. They make mistakes too. They have “off” days. They have days when they aren’t in a good mood. They have moments of sadness.

They just handle their mistakes differently. They don’t demean themselves. They don’t hate themselves. They don’t ignore their own needs. They sit with themselves and their emotions. They have compassion for themselves. They forgive themselves.

So, don’t worry about making the wrong decision or making a mistake. Because it isn’t about doing it right or perfect all of the time, it’s about how you show up for yourself in those moments that really matters. And remember this, you will never make a wrong decision when you choose yourself.

You become the healed version of yourself by establishing boundaries with yourself. Act on what you say you’ll do, gently. If you want to wake up earlier to exercise or meditate, then go to sleep a little earlier the night before.

If you want to journal before bed, put down the phone for a few minutes and write down whatever comes to your mind. If you want to be kinder to yourself, start speaking to yourself like you’re a person worth respecting.

There will be days you don’t want to do those things because “they’re stupid,” you had a bad day and would rather sulk, or you’re too tired. That’s also ok. But you show up for yourself the next day and the day after.

This isn’t a process of being rigid and structured. It’s a process of learning to have compassion for yourself in the moments you need it and learning to honor yourself so you can become the healed version of yourself.

The more you show up for yourself with compassion while honoring your own word, the easier this becomes. And one day, it’ll hit you. You didn’t just magically wake up one day as a brand new person.

You became that person in the moments you chose yourself even when you didn’t want to. You became that person when you showed up for yourself in the moments you didn’t know how to. You became that person when you chose to love yourself despite the voices telling you you shouldn’t.

This isn’t about choosing in the sense of willpower and courage. Because each time you fall back into toxic cycles and behaviors doesn’t mean you’re consciously choosing a life you don’t want, it means you have to break the habits that are preventing you from living the life you want.

You choose the new version of yourself by breaking patterns one conscious breath, thought, and habit at a time.

I’ll see you soon…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
