Slow Down And Get Intentional With This Winter Solstice Ritual

Slow Down And Get Intentional With This Winter Solstice Ritual

With almost another trip around the sun, it’s time to reflect on this past year along with what we want the upcoming year to bring us. The winter solstice (12/21) makes this the perfect opportunity. Traditionally, the solstice is a time of celebrating and going within so that by the spring equinox, we emerge refreshed and renewed.

I believe in tradition, it’s a great way to honor the path of those who walked before us. And with the 12 days of Yule, well, it helps us to believe in the magic and miracles of this season.

Besides, we’ve done so much work on ourselves that it’s time to hone in on manifesting our desires. I mean, I’m sure you’re done with the tears of sorrow and ready for the tears of joy and gratitude, right?

This ritual is going to help you to go within, just in a different way. You’re going to connect with your heart and soul so these manifestations go beyond what society and the people in your life expect of you or even what you think you want. And you’ll learn a little more about yourself in the process. It’s also lighthearted, helps to heal your inner child, and will help you to develop the confidence to boldly ask for what you want.

WHY YOU WANT TO CONNECT TO YOUR HEART:

  • Our heart sends more signals to the brain than the brain to the heart (manifestation begins in the heart)
  • Our heart’s electromagnetic field is 100 times stronger than the brain and extends about 3 feet outside of our physical bodies (we’re attracting based on how we feel)
  • Our heart has the ability to make decisions

THE RITUAL:

  • Starting on 12/21, write down one heart centered wish (directions are below) per day on a piece of paper.
  • Make it fun and cozy- make a cup of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea, light a candle, and snuggle up in a blanket each day as you’re thinking about and writing down your wishes.
  • Keep it intentional- connect to your heart each day to find your heart centered wishes. Directions are below.
  • On the 12th day, safely burn all your wishes to symbolize that the Universe/God hears your prayers. Carry faith in your heart that the Divine will show up for you in the most miraculous way.

HOW TO FIND YOUR HEART CENTERED WISHES:

  • Place one or both hands on your heart. Our awareness will always shift to where we feel the sensation.
  • Slow your breathing. You can inhale for a count of 5 and exhale for a count of 5. Our breathing naturally slows down when we’re feeling calm so this will help to feel safe in your body.
  • When you feel calm and serene, ask your heart what it wants.
  • Whatever response comes is your answer.
  • Do this each day during the 12 days of Yule to find your heart centered wishes.

If you’re seeing this and it isn’t around the winter solstice/yule, and you want to do this ritual anyway, do it. There’s no rule that says you can’t make all the wishes your heart desires any other time of the year.

I’ll see you soon…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
