Thoughts become the stories we tell. Those stories become beliefs. And eventually, they become our reality.
Sometimes our stories take us to places we’ve only dared to dream about. And sometimes, they keep us hostage in a cycle we don’t know how to break free from.
Thoughts shape us into the people we are and our views of the world, either empowering or disempowering us. We also have the power to change them any time we don’t like how our stories are being told.
Every new thought creates a new neural pathway. When thoughts are repeated, the neural pathway gets stronger, eventually becoming a belief. Hebb’s Law- neurons that fire together, wire together.
That’s why we get stuck in the same loop of yesterday’s stories. It’s also how we escape the toxic patterns gripping tightly onto us.
Choose your thoughts as if you’re decorating your dream home. The same way you wouldn’t go to a landfill for furniture and decor, don’t let your mind get filled with thoughts that aren’t giving you the life you want. Fill your mind with love, not garbage.
Decorate each corner of your mind with the same attention to detail as you would when you’re picking out paint colors or wallpaper. Fill the crevices of your psyche with treasures you’ve collected along your journey, not the trash that’s already been taken out.
Only allow thoughts that contribute to your health, peace, and abundance. Set your standards high and never lower them for anything or anyone.

Think about the life you want, think highly of yourself, think about what sets your soul on fire, what you want your days to look and feel like, the type of people you want by your side.
Even if you feel like your life is the polar opposite of what you want, think about the things you want. Your reality is a reflection of your thoughts. So, eventually, there will be a physical and tangible manifestation of what’s going on within.

Start today. Choose one new thought. Repeat it in the morning, in the afternoon, right before you go to sleep. Repeat it as often as you can.
Then start doing it everyday. If you miss a day, that’s ok. Just come back to it when you remember.
You’re breaking a lifetime cycle of thinking the same thoughts, so it’s going to take time and require your patience. And you deserve your own patience.

When you catch yourself thinking about worst case scenarios, turn the thought into something positive, think about things working out even better than you imagined. If your mind tries to drag you back into the past, think about the future you’re creating right now.
This isn’t about ignoring the negative. It’s about refusing to allow your thoughts to create unfavorable circumstances while acknowledging the truth. Yes, you’ve had to live through experiences you never asked for, but you’re also not going to allow what happened in the past to stifle your growth anymore or to be a prisoner to your pain and suffering.
All it takes is one new thought to change your reality. So, tell yourself a new story- a story that’s going to create the life you want, not the life you’ve outgrown.
I’ll see you soon…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
