About eight years ago, I was having one of those days- it was like whatever could go wrong, did. It wasn’t horrendous, but definitely annoying.
It was the kind that you tell yourself you don’t want to remember. And, after all these years, I don’t remember what happened. Only the way I felt.
On a whim, I decided to write down everything bothering me with pen and paper. As I was writing and thinking about what to vent out next, I thought, “oh, that’s too petty to be irritated about. Don’t bother.”
My intuition told me no. You have to write it down. Write down everything you’re annoyed about. So I did.

When I was done, I lit the paper on fire. It was soooo cathartic. My energy felt lighter. And for the first time, I didn’t feel like my problems were bigger than me.
You know that feeling? When your problems seem so large that you don’t know how you’ll get out of it. And you know thinking about it isn’t going to help, but you also can’t stop thinking about it.
We can’t burn our problems away. But we can burn the way they make us feel away, by confronting them head on and then releasing it.

I’ve also done it with manifestations. When I was struggling to trust the Universe, myself, and that I could have the things I wanted, I would write down what I wanted with pen and paper and burn it. I did it as a symbol of surrendering and trusting the process.
I’ve manifested a few big moves using this method. For smaller things, I honestly can’t tell you if the exact tangible manifestations came to fruition because I don’t remember what I’ve asked for. But I know that the clarity I’ve asked for, the situations I’ve inquired about, the help with the healing- all of that has come true. Almost instantly.
Yes, you can use manifestation to help you heal. Not in a way to bypass the inner work, but to alleviate the stress and burden of healing.
If you’re stuck, ask to see clearly so that you can move forward. If you feel off about someone, and struggle with trusting your intuition, ask for signs or clarity surrounding the person. Or if you’re harping on something and can’t let it go, ask your team to transform the energies for you into confidence, empowerment, or motivation- or any other energy you want. Make sure to ask them to transform your energies instead of taking on the energies for you. Why have them take it on when they can turn it into something else for you, something that will help you?

If you have anything weighing heavy on your heart, or there’s that stubborn thought that just won’t leave, or you’re struggling to trust, or maybe even too shy to speak out loud what you want, write down everything you want to bring in and the things you want to release with pen and paper. Then burn it. Do it as a symbol of freeing yourself from the emotional and mental shackles.
What you’ll need:
- Pen
- Paper
- Lighter
- Fireproof bowl
THE RITUAL:
- Write down everything bothering you with pen and paper. If something pops up in your mind and you want to ignore it because it sounds petty, write it down. This is your chance to air out all of your frustrations. So take full advantage of it.
- You can also use this time to ask your guides to help you heal from a situation- gain acceptance, clarity, peace, etc.
- When you’re done, fold up the piece of paper.
- Take it outside or place it in a fireproof bowl and safely burn it.
- As it’s burning, you can say a prayer or gratitude for your stresses and worries burning away.
- Do this whenever you feel called.
I’ll see you soon…in the meantime, love yourself so much that even a Hallmark Christmas movie would be jealous.
