The March cosmic weather report is FINALLY here. I had to put a strong emphasis on the finally for two reasons.
First is because I’ve been meaning to start this section for soooooo damn long but never did. For reasons like:
Can you relate? But you can’t allow that to hinder your progress anymore. I’m saying that for me too.
In fact, we’re being called as a collective to step outside of our comfort zones. If we don’t, we’ll get left behind while life continues to pass right by us.
Which will inevitably leave us in the dust. I’m sure you don’t want that cause I sure as hell don’t.
That brings me to the second reason of “finally.”
We’re approaching the astrological new year. If you’ve been feeling kind of stagnant or that your new year hasn’t been treating you too well, here’s your chance to hit that restart button.
The March cosmic weather forecast is offering the promise of a new start.
Or at the very least, a do over to the new year. Essentially, the Equinox is when 2020 actually starts.
Which is why I’m feeling compelled to start these cosmic weather reports now- hit that start button and because I’ve been wanting to do this for too long.
Anyway, this cosmic weather report will only cover the major celestial bodies transiting the heavens. It won’t be specific to you because I don’t have your birth details to individualize this. This is merely a blueprint for the upcoming month to help you navigate the energies with grace and poise.
Before I get into everything, I’m a firm believer that there is a divine blueprint for each and every one of us.
What that doesn’t mean is to allow astrology to dictate your life. By dictate I mean seeing an upcoming transit that may not be favorable and automatically thinking the worst of things or that you’re going to have to go through apocalyptic changes. No.
Astrology is about learning your natal chart and how that serves as your divine blueprint along with upcoming transits to best utilize it for your life.
When you’re prepared, you’re proactive instead of being reactive.
That’s what astrology is. A tool to help us navigate the nuances of life as best as we can.
Now that’s out of the way, I’m going to move on.
Everything will be in chronological order because, well, it makes a ton more sense.
Also, I use Western astrology which means that I follow the tropical zodiac. With the exception of the new moon and full moon- I follow the ancient wisdom which will be touched upon when we get there
Let’s get started on the March cosmic weather report, shall we?
3/9- Full moon in Virgo
Before I touch upon this, I have to stress that I honor the ancient wisdom by manifesting with the full moon and releasing with each new moon.
The traditional ways state that when the moon is fully illuminated, so is our intuition. Because we can see clearly, we have the ability to bring in what we want.
Now that’s out of the way, I’ll let you know what to expect.
Virgo is the sixth sign in the zodiac and is an earth sign.
Some words to describe this are: grounded, earthy, practical, balanced, patient, pure, service oriented.
The shadow aspects are: overly critical, perfectionism, judgmental, lofty expectations, can’t live up to their own standards.
With that said, full moons bring about heightened emotions. So you may notice yourself or someone close to you displaying these emotions, both the light and the dark side.
On a positive note, this is also the moon that you get to manifest what you want. If you want to work with the energies of Virgo, use those keywords to help with your manifestations.
You’ll also notice that this full moon is going to have you reflecting on your contribution in the world and how you can be more virtuous to those around you. You may be inclined to areas of selfless service.
Something along the likes of donating your time to a charity, or giving money to the needy, or how you can give more of you to your significant other and your kids.
The Virgo full moon is asking how can you make the world a better place?
It’s not a totally kumbaya sign, but the emphasis is on the world being a better place to live and how you can play your part.
Not to the extremes of quitting your job and moving halfway around the world to go live in an ashram for the rest of your life. If you’re considering how you can co-create a better world, you’ll be more pragmatic about it.
I’m not saying living in an ashram is impractical, but we’re working with the energies of Virgo here. You’re going to take a methodical approach that doesn’t require you to flip your world upside down.
Take some time during the full moon to figure out how you can be in service to others more without sacrificing yourself as a martyr. Remember, balance is the name of the game here.

With that out of the way, let’s move onto the second event of the March cosmic weather report.
3/10- Mercury stations direct
I’d give another huge emphasis on the finally here, but I don’t want to wear out the effects of the word.
Anyway, it’s not quite time to rejoice. Mercury will be in a shadow phase until the 29th. So if you want to be cautious or are superstitious, wait until the 30th to start up anything new.
In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, I’ll explain Mercury along with the retrograde and its relation to the cosmos.
Mercury is the planet that’s closest to the sun and was named after the messenger god Mercury by the Romans because it moves so quickly.
It only makes sense that Mercury happens to be the planet of communications, travel, technology, automobiles.
What does Mercury retrograde mean for you?
Quite a bit actually.
Before I explain that; let me start with this. When a planet is said to be retrograde, it’s not actually moving backwards. It’s stationed still, but because the earth is constantly rotating, it makes whatever planet that’s stationary appear to be moving in a retrograde motion.
Back go the meaning of a Mercury retrograde. We’ve established that Mercury is the messenger god, therefore is responsible for communications. When it’s in retrograde, things related to the aforementioned can go wonky.
This goes for dating too. It’s best to not entertain new suitors because the honeymoon phase will end pretty quickly. At which point, those rose tinted glasses will be taken off and what was once alluring, isn’t so sexy anymore.
Ever notice an ex makes a reappearance as if out of nowhere? Chances are, a Mercury retrograde is to thank, or in some cases, curse for that.
If you’re looking to purchase a new car, sign a contract for anything, start a new job, or travel, it’s best to put it off.
I’m not by any means saying that you have to live your life with blackout dates according to a Mercury retrograde, but you can notice delays or things weren’t as they seem.
That’s because a retrograde creates a fog. Once the skies are clear, so is your sight.
A retrograde is meant as a period of re-evaluation.
Think in terms of “re” for retrogrades. Here are a few examples:
Without retrogrades, we would only be moving forward without any down time to reflect on what we want our lives to look like.
It may sound all fun to only be moving forward, but there would be no deep and real progression if we didn’t take a step back to make the necessary adjustments.
Use retrogrades as a time to decompress so that you can catapult ahead.
Remember when I said that the shadow phase would last another few weeks? That shadow phase acts as the aftermath if you will.
It’s like having your butt and legs get numb after sitting in a car for too long. You need a readjustment period after to get back into the groove.
Think of the retrograde in that aspect. It needs some time to catch up with the earth after having been in the same spot.
Now that we’ve gotten retrogrades out of the way, it’s time to move onto the next.
3/19- Vernal Equinox
This marks the start of the astrological new year. If you’ve been lackadaisical on your new year’s resolutions, now is the time to begin again.
The spring Equinox is giving you a second chance to conquer your goals, so take full advantage. Make it count.
Aside from being bestowed with another opportunity, the Equinox is when the hours of sunlight and night time are completely equal. Everything is in perfect equilibrium.
It’s all about balance.
Which makes this an opportune time to do a detox.
So, I’m pretty sure that you can figure out between the full moon in Virgo, the Mercury retrograde, and the spring Equinox, the theme of March is all about finding a symphonic harmony.
- Where do you need to strike a balance in your life?
- How can you give selfless service without it impeding your wellbeing?
- Where do you need to let go of the reigns in your life to achieve harmony?
Essentially, you want to spring clean your mind to spring clean your life. Declutter the old to welcome in the new. That’s what this is all about. Check out the decade in review here to aid you in starting fresh.
Ok, enough said on this.
Let’s move onto the next HUGE transit because this is going to be so amazing for the collective.
3/21- Saturn enters Aquarius
Of all the celestial events occurring , Saturn entering Aquarius is definitely the biggest of our March cosmic weather report.
After two and a half years of Saturn being in it’s home sign of Capricorn, it’s making a transition into Aquarius, where it will remain for about two and a half years. While Saturn does rule Capricorn, it was all about work and hardly any play.
As a Capricorn rising, I can affirm that. I had to endure so much pain along with healing from past suffering to reinvent myself. While I definitely had fun, I had to do a shit ton more work on myself.
Saturn is the Lord of Karma.
Now, don’t get worried. Karma is neither good nor bad.
Karma is actually said for a lack of a better word. What it really means is redemption in the present from past mistakes for a better future. Don’t equate that to suffering. Acting with integrity, honor, grace, and humility isn’t insufferable. It’s what we should be doing anyway.
Back to karma being what it is. As you sow, shall you reap. Think of it in those terms- that’s your karma.
With Saturn moving into Aquarius, this is where the rewards start to pay off. If you’ve been working your ass off, your karma is going to be favorable for you.
You may be a bit confused wondering why if Saturn rules Capricorn, that the fruits of your labor come in then?
Because the past two and a half years was about building an indestructible foundation. Capricorn is the methodical and grounded work horse. It doesn’t stop working because, one, it has the stamina to keep going, and two, because it’s ruthless in its pursuits.
Saturn is exalted in Aquarius.
Meaning that it’s comfortable and loves being here. The next two and half years isn’t necessarily one big party the way Jupiter is when it’s in Sagittarius, but the energy is so much lighter and freer here than it was in Capricorn.
You’ll start to notice that the setbacks and blockages are being removed so you can inch your way forward. I say inch because Saturn is a slow moving planet. It may take a few months before you notice everything shifting in your life.
But that’s amazing because you can use the energies of the Spring Equinox to really hone in on what you want your life to look like. You won’t get this energy again for 30 years- Saturn in Aquarius along with a spring Equinox, so go big.
As big as you can dream because this is about radical change. Aquarius, as an air sign, is innovative and a progressive humanitarian. It looks outside of the box for answers while wanting to collaborate with others.
You may find yourself questioning the status quo and decide to blaze your own trails as a result. Which will bring new foundations, new ways of thinking, improved ways of working with others, and ultimately, a new way of living.
Really utilize this time to be advantageously beneficial for you. And you’ll get that opportunity because the new moon will be in Aries which brings me to the next celestial event of March.
3/24- New Moon in Aries
While this may be the last event of our March cosmic weather report, this is the first new moon of the astrological new year. If you haven’t done a detox or purged, both metaphorically and literally, here’s your chance to cleanse yourself of everything that’s no longer serving you.
It can be difficult and uncomfortable to say good riddance to what needs to go, but if you don’t, you’re going to keep repeating the same perpetual cycle over.
Anyway, this is your opportunity to release the past. Use your list of goals to help you figure out what needs to go in order to bring in what you want.
What’s holding you back from love and magic?
Take a time out for some reflection and create a ritual, which you can access here.
To best harness the energies of the Aries new moon, let me give you a brief rundown.
Aries is a fire sign and the first of the twelve zodiacs. Aries energy is passionate, fiery, loves to be in charge, confident, determined, and great at initiating,
The shadow sides can be displayed as impatience, stubbornness, domineering, impulsive, and arrogant.
Now that you have a few keywords to describe Aries, you know the energies to expect and how to best use it for your benefit.
If you display any shadow characteristics of Aries, this is a great time to tame them down as best as you can because a new moon is meant to release what isn’t conducive for our wellbeing.
Letting go fueled with the fresh energies of the spring Equinox will have you soaring higher than ever before. This is a brand new time frame to create the life you keep dreaming of so don’t rest on your laurels.
Ok, there you have it…the March cosmic weather report.
