DIY Winter Solstice Yule Ritual Blend: unlock your witchery

I’m beyond excited for this post today. Because we’re going to be making a Winter Solstice/Yule Ritual Blend.

It seems I’ve been saying how excited I am about all my posts in the recent months, but anything to do with the holidays gives me those warm and cozy feelings inside. Especially when you take the time to create something from scratch for a sacred ritual.

This Yule/Winter Solstice Ritual Blend is perfect for your rituals, spellwork, or anytime you need to get your zen on. With evergreen, chamomile, rosehip, cinnamon, cloves, and frankincense, this blend was created specifically for the Winter Solstice/Yule.

It’s fashioned to help you find the light within the darkness. Because Yule/Winter Solstice is a time for deep introspection, this will help you to purge what no longer serves you, allowing your light to shine a bit more with each passing day, just as the sun does.

And of course, bring all the good stuff- health, wealth, abundance, prosperity, oodles of love, and protection.

Oh- the added bonus is that this spice blend can be used for various purposes IF you’re using organic herbs. If not, then please only use it as incense.

I’ve made tea, without frankincense (it’s not safe to be taken internally) and burned it as incense. I also made an elixir by mixing this with moon water. Then I’ll be using it as a bath soak for my Winter Solstice ritual.

Here are a few ways:

  • Incense
  • Tea
  • Tea Soak/Bath
  • Elixir
  • Spells

If you’re going to consume it as tea, please leave out the Frankincense when making this recipe. It is NOT meant to be consumed.

Let’s get started, shall we?

This recipe is for 2oz of the blend.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 oz. Glass container or tin with a lid
  • 2 tbsp. Organic Chamomile
  • 2 tbsp. Organic Evergreen
  •  ¼ tsp. Organic Rose Hips
  • About 5 tiny nuggets of Frankincense Resin
  • ½ Organic Cinnamon Stick (broken into small pieces)
  • 5 Whole Organic Cloves (broken into small pieces)

Just in case you didn’t see the note above, do NOT put the frankincense in this recipe if you’re planning to drink it as a tea.

How to make it:

  • In your tin, place all of the herbs and spices. Leave out the frankincense if you’re planning on drinking this. I know I keep saying it, but I gotta make sure you see it.
  • Cover it with the lid and give it a good shake.

Viola! Your very own Winter Solstice Spice Blend that literally takes less than two minutes to make.

Here’s what the herbs and spices symbolize:

Chamomile- ruled by the Sun to inspire you to find your creativity, your vitality, and your life force.

Rose Hips- ruled by Venus to help you to find beauty in the darkness and to serve as a reminder that love always resides within you.

Evergreen- to help you build resilience and weather the darkest of storms.

Frankincense- ruled by the Sun to restore calm and tranquility and to invoke peace.

Cinnamon- ruled by the Sun and Mars to bring prosperity, luck and victory.

Cloves- ruled by Jupiter to bring clarity, protection, and expansion.

How to Use:

  • Use a heatproof dish, preferably a cauldron.
  • Light up a charcoal disk and place it in the cauldron.
  • Place about half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of incense onto the charcoal.
  • Set your intentions. Repeat your intentions sporadically while the herbs are burning.

You can walk around your home with the windows open while holding your cauldron (carefully because they get hot as f*ck!) to cleanse your space with this blend as well.

You can even use this to anoint your candles for any spellwork, especially during this season.

Please practice safety when burning incense.

There you have it…a Yule/Winter Solstice Ritual Blend that you can use in sooo many ways. You just need to explore your creativity a bit with how you use it.
