create a zen workspace to bring in magic

I’m going to show five ways on how to create a zen workspace to bring in magic.

Magic can only come into your life when you make the space for it to enter.  Without free energies, everything in your life will feel like it’s in stagnation.

I’m sure you’ve been there…feeling like you’re in a perpetual lull with absolutely nothing happening.  That’s because your energies are basically being stuffed into a closet, never having been cleaned.

If those energies have nowhere to go, nothing can possibly enter- including magic.  And that’s not what you want.

Your work environment is definitely no exception.  Even if you take the time to spiritually ground yourself throughout the day, your workspace needs to be more zen if you want to magic to enter.

Before I continue, I need to stress that in order for magic to come into your life, you need to believe in it. Without the belief, it just can’t happen.  Ok, let me carry on.

If you’re struggling and downright hate your job, continue reading.  Because you, of all people, need this the most.

While this certainly isn’t a cure to love your job, it will definitely help to boost your morale while providing you with the impetus to be more productive.

In turn, being happier with your accomplishments.  The happier you are, the more magic can enter.

Purge your office, purge your mind

That starts with your work area being clean and tidy.  Are you happy when everything is in a disarray and looks like a pig sty?  Probably not.

When your environment is organized, you’re basically declaring you’re open to receiving more.  If it’s a mess, you’re sending out signals you have too much on your plate so can’t be burdened with anything new.

Not to mention, when things are organized and put back where you took them from, you will always find them.

That’s gotta save at least twenty minutes on your workload everyday.  Couldn’t you use an extra twenty minutes a day?

Magic is about allowing fresh new energies to enter your life.

If you’re not happy when you look at your desk, you’re not going to be too thrilled with working.  And if you’re not motivated, the energies won’t allow any newness to enter.

You should be at peace where you spend the majority of your time; your workspace.

If that’s depressing, I hear ya.  But that’s why it needs to be a place of serenity.  No, it’s not the same as entering a temple, but if you treat your desk as an oasis, it will become one.

Magic starts with having a clean space

You don’t need to spend an insane amount of money or time to add some flair.  All you need are a few hacks to give you the much needed zen to your workspace.  With some simple tricks and a little creativity, you’ll get there.

The last thing you want is to go to your desk, only to see a huge mess- as if to taunt you for all that isn’t accomplished.

The more stressed you are about your workload, the less chances you’ll have for magic to come in.  Because your mindset won’t allow for it.  It will only repel everything magical away.

What you need is for your workspace to feel as serene as possible.

Bringing in magic doesn’t just have to be limited to your workspace either, you can apply it to other areas of your life.   You can even apply these workspace hacks to your home.

With these simple tricks, you’ll get your workspace into a more zen state for magic to enter.

Let’s get started, shall we?

Declutter and Organize

Tranquility starts with organization.

If walking into your office is giving you anxiety because of the mess, yeah, it’s time to get that cleaned up.

Having papers hanging on the walls and splayed out all over your desk while opening each drawer to find yet another mess is going to leave you feeling scattered.  It’s time to say good riddance to it.

Here’s a few quick pointers to get you in the right direction:

  • Take all the papers down from the walls and file them away in a binder with reference labels so you have easy access.
  • Clean out the drawers and throw away any pens that have run its course along with notes you no longer need.
  • Organize your business cards in one neat compartment.
  • Put thumbtacks, staples, and paper clips into small containers so they’re not loose.  Take away all the post-its from your computer screen.
  • Throw away old documents you don’t need anymore.
  • Delete files on your computer that are no longer relevant.
  • Move your desk and any other furniture you have around.
  • Get the energies moving.

Bottom line is the less messy your physical space is, the less frazzled your mind is. And when you make the effort to create a zen your workspace, the more magic you can bring in.

Stimulate your creative juices.

Organize your workspace in a manner that’s congruent for you while maximizing efficiency.  If you’re always using the same files, don’t place them on a shelf that you need a step ladder to reach.  If you rarely use post its, keep them in one of your desk drawers instead of leaving it on your desk.

I think you get it.  That’s the first step to having a zen workspace to bring in more magic.   Let’s get onto the second.

Put a plant on your desk

5 ways to create a zen workspace to bring in magic

Plants that clean the air will help in eliminating toxins from your immediate environment so this is a non-negotiable if you need to take the stress away.

Acting as a natural air purifier, studies have shown that plants can increase your productivity.

And if plants clean the air, guess what that means?  You’re freeing up space for magic to enter your life.

Most plants don’t need to be watered frequently so you don’t need to worry about having to tend to them too often or even increasing your workload.

An added bonus is that looking at a plant can be so calming and relaxing.  Even better is if you can’t leave your desk for several hours, you have the chance to bring the outdoors to you.

If the incentive of having clean air isn’t enough for you, it’s just so zen to have plants around.  You definitely don’t have to turn your workspace into a jungle, but one or two is such a huge mood booster.

Less stress transmutes to being more receptive to new possibilities.

If you tend to be more of a giver than a receiver, this is so perfect for you.  You get to care for something while getting something in return and not feel guilty about it.

They’re even great to help you overcome the midday slump, especially when you need to calm your mind.  If you find you’re tired in the middle of your workday, all you need to do is reach in your desk for a stimulating scent.

Or if that deadline is causing you a headache, reach for some lavender oil.  Need a mood booster?

Try an invigorating feel happy scent.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the mood stabilizing benefits of essential oils.  And if you haven’t, well now you know.

This hasn’t been scientifically proven, but I can tell you from personal experience that essential oils provide me with the calm and collected demeanor I need when I’m stressed out.  Yes, it very well can be psychosomatic, but it works.

If you haven’t experimented with them yet, this is a great way to start dabbling with essential oils.

Essential oils don’t just create a zen workspace to bring in more magic, they can benefit your overall well-being.

Add An inspiring coffee mug to your desk

5 ways to create a zen workspace to bring in magic

Don’t let your coffee mug just be your source of sanity. Use it to set your intention for the day.

Forget the plain white coffee mug that sits on your desk.  Because it’s so much more than that. If you want to create a zen workspace to bring in more magic, you have to look at the details.

Get something that reflects what and how you want to feel.  Something that puts a smile on your face when you reach for your caffeine or herbal tea.  Getting a brand new coffee mug that inspires you will basically act as your intention for the work day.

If you want to splurge a little, get a custom made mug with your favorite quote or picture.  Get something that’s going to motivate you to be a better person today than you were yesterday.

If you think I’m stretching it, I get it.  Cause, how can one measly mug do that?

But my tea mug does just that.  It’s a beautiful floral print mug that says “live, laugh, love.”  I love it so much that I travel with it. Every morning when I make my cup of tea, it brings a smile to my face and affirms what I want my day to bring.

Think of your coffee mug as more than just a vessel for caffeine.

Look at it as your intention for the day ahead of you.  It’s the same concept as all of the subliminal messages you see everyday.  Except this one is going to turn your workspace into an oasis and light a fire under your butt.

When you’re motivated without being controlling of the outcome you want, you’re inviting magic to enter your life.  The operative word is controlling.

Surrender to the unknown because destiny is going to come knocking on your door either which way.  Fate’s coming so you might as well not prolong the inevitable.

Anyway, I got sidetracked there for a hot minute.

Bring an inspiring coffee mug into your workspace and allow the magic to unfold.  Use it as more than “just” a coffee mug.  Let it be a magical tool and create a ritual with it.

Place a candle in your workspace

5 ways to create a zen workspace to bring in magic

The scent of a candle can transform stress to zen at the workspace.

You know the power of a scent.  It can make you feel sensual and romantic or like you’re on your dream vacay on a beach.

Whatever your favorite scent is, get a candle that evokes that feeling for your desk.  You’ll be instantly transported to a different reality and forget about your woes, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Light the candle up whenever you feel the stress starting to rear its ugly head.  Keep it on your desk so you have a therapeutic source by your side.  Allow the scent to invigorate you and your environment.

Bring on the zen

Having a calming color like white or a pale green can help you to feel more relaxed and at ease.

You can even save the jars and put your nick nacks in there to use as storage containers or use it as a vase for flowers or succulents.

Burning a candle while you’re working will help to remove the negative energies which will induce the magic to enter.

If you notice black smoke coming from the flame, that’s a telling sign there’s negativity on your workspace.  If so, smudging with sage or palo santo will give it a deep cleansing.

Make a small investment on a candle.  But don’t buy just anything you see.  Check the ingredients first.  When in doubt, 100% soy wax is the best way to go.

You can even set an intention when you’re burning the candle to increase the amount of magic to enter.  Turn it into a ritual.

There you have it.  Five cost ways to create a zen workspace to bring in more magic.

Again, these simple hacks don’t require too much time unless your desk is an absolute mess.  If it is, just clean and declutter little by little.  But don’t let the piles of clutter keep accumulating.

You need to be happy while you’re working so it’s time to turn your desk into a serene atmosphere.
