celebrate your inner child

It’s all about how you can celebrate your inner child.

Nurturing your inner child is such an amazing way to heal the past so you can evolve into the person you’re meant to be.

We all have had crap said and done to us as children that greatly impacted who we are today.  It’s permeated our psyche, leaving some psychological scars in its wake.

While scars can’t be healed, the pain can diminish through a little TLC.  With some practice, you can nourish the part of you that’s felt neglected for so many years.

We were once the product of our environment.  Now we’re the creators of our destiny.  Which means it’s time to do a little soul work to heal the past.

When you can tap into the child within to provide him/her with the love that wasn’t given, you can heal yourself in this moment.

To love yourself more, nurturing your inner child in a way that wasn’t provided for in the past is going to help you towards spiritual progression.  It all starts with creating a healthy and loving relationship with your younger self.

Even if we say that we’ve healed the past or something is long forgotten, it’s been imprinted in our subconscious mind.  When the not so great experiences are stored in there, well, then it’s the baggage that keeps getting carried around whether we’re aware of it or not.

Love your inner child

The great thing is that you can reprogram your subconscious mind- the habit mind, to start thinking the way you want it to and not the way you were indoctrinated to think.

That’s what it’s all about today.  To create new healthy habits by loving your inner child.

You do have to keep in mind that the modalities about to be presented to you aren’t meant as a one time deal.  It takes time and patience to cultivate love with yourself.  If that’s not your cup of tea, think about this:

If you were to meet someone right now, would you expect them or yourself to jump into a relationship right away?  No.  Because you know it takes time to enter into one.

Now apply that same analogy with yourself.  Granted, you’re already in a relationship with yourself.  But, you need time to heal so that you can love yourself more than ever before.

Celebrate your inner child

So keep this in mind when you’re doing the inner work.  In order to love yourself fully, you have to work your ass off on yourself for yourself.  But, it’s soooo worth the efforts when the love and magic are revealed.

It’s time to take the psychological garbage out because it has no room for the love that needs to be there.

After all, your mind is a hot commodity that has valuable real estate so it should only be filled with magic and not hatred.

Let’s celebrate your inner child with these five ways, shall we?

1. Eat your favorite childhood food

While your favorite childhood food probably isn’t the healthiest of choices, it is the most fun.

It doesn’t matter if your favorite food as a kid was a donut or a brownie.  What matters is how you celebrate the child within.

Remember back when you were a kid and you would get so consumed with excitement when your parents or family gave you your favorite food?  How it made you feel?

Well, recapture the memories of childhood bliss with whatever it is you used to love.  Indulge yourself for just a few minutes.  Or even just a few bites of something that brings you back to the age of innocence.

2. Celebrate your inner child with a card game

I’m not sure about you, but I loved card games when I was little, especially solitaire.  I guess it was because it was meant as a solo venture.

Anyway, what was your favorite card game as a kid?  Or even a board game will suffice.

If the game of your choice requires playing with other people, have your closest friends over for a potluck game night.  Make it an event.

You’re meant to have fun so why not celebrate the inner child while you’re having fun?  Go back to your youth by yourself or with a few people.  Live in the moment where nothing bogged you down.

3. Watch a cartoon or animated film

If you have kiddies, watching cartoons is probably the story of your life.  But it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy yourself.

If you don’t have children and don’t indulge in an animated film every so often, you’re really missing out.

Binge out with some ice cream and popcorn to one of your go to childhood shows.  Get your favorite flavors and toppings and treat yourself.

Nourish the part of you that’s been repressed for so long.  Take a reprieve for a day and enjoy being a child all over again.

Find the joy in the little things that you once used to be enamored with.

4. Take a bath (but not just any bath)

Maybe you already incorporate a bath into your self-care routine, but I’m not talking about just any bath.  It’s gotta be with Mr. Bubble.

I used to love Mr. Bubble when I was a kid, well, actually still do.  Just seeing the bright pink bottle puts a smile on my face.

Every time I’m feeling a little down, I decide to take a bath with Mr. Bubble and it instantly lifts my spirits.

There’s something about this one that just evokes so much happiness.  Try it out and you won’t be disappointed.

This is definitely my favorite way of celebrating my inner child and it just may become yours too.

5. Write a letter to your child self

We’ve all had things said or done to us when we were children that have shaped our paradigms.  Sometimes we’ve become jaded and cynical.

Eventually, we wish that we knew differently as kids.  Because if we were better equipped with the knowledge of life’s nuances and hardships back then, we would have taken a different course in life.

This is why writing a letter to your inner child will heal you on such profound levels.  Tell them why and how much you love them, that the world can be a callous place to live in, that you’re there to protect and nurture them with all of your heart, give them guidance for the future.

Whatever it is, put pen to paper.  Write everything down that you need to say to your child self.

Carry the letter in your wallet and read it anytime you need a reminder of your love for your child self and yourself.

There you have it…five ways to celebrate your inner child.

Show the love for the younger version of yourself so you can flourish more than ever before.

Love yourself by nurturing the lost part of you.  Reclaim your innocence and carefree ways.
